Cross Country MTB races on the prison course

The Race Behind Bars is one of the few times each year you can ride this restricted course on the State Prison property. NOTE: This area is off limits at any other time, please do not try to pre-ride this course except on race day.

The course is awesome and includes lots of sweet single track, fire roads, flume trail, three bridge crossings and all in our native oak woodlands. Racing this event is a rare opportunity to ride on the 5.9 mile course on the Folsom Prison property. Want to see what the course is like? Watch a VIDEO of the race course HERE.

START LOCATION is at the Dan Russell Rodeo Arena in Folsom, located HERE.

Race day schedule:
Registration/check in opens at 8:00am. Please check in one hour before your race start to pick up and install your number plate.

Race start time:
9:00 AM - Open practice begins
10:00 AM - Beginners (2 laps), Beginner Juniors (1 lap)
11:30 AM - Sport, Sport SS, Clydesdale, Tandem (3 laps)
11:30 AM - Expert, Expert SS (4 laps)
1:30 PM - Awards!
